The architecture, interior architecture and decoration projects of the building of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, which houses the Bilkent Concert Hall, were carried out by Erkut Şahinbaş and İlhan Kural. The faculty building was constructed by the construction company Tepe İnşaat between December 9, 1993 and October 15, 1994. Its total area for use covers 14.328 square meters.
Finnish architect Matti Heikkinen served as the acoustic consultant of the hall.
The hall with its acoustic panels and a stage lift allows for the performance of stage works as well by the use of an orchestra pit. With a seating capacity of 700, the concert hall has the qualities of a prominent recording studio. The Bilkent Concert Hall has two Steinway concert pianos. Its opening concert was given by the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra on November 1, 1994.
